So, in day two of old child care, Bonzo was "not so bad", according to his provider. He was wiggling happily when I arrived. Also, he is eating a ton there now and sleeping most of the rest of the time. There was no gas leak or other stink in my house when I arrived home, and I passed out on the bed next to Bonzo at 9:45 and didn't awake until 5 am. So life is pretty darn good. I'm looking forward to seeing the kiddo tonight.

I ordered a suitcase for our big trip abroad next week, and though I thought it would ship in plenty of time, the new ship date is posted as the day that we leave. Arrgh. Need another wheeled suitcase, stat and cheap. Perhaps I'll steal one.

I wish I had time to culture-blog: I got a newsletter from NOW filled with the sadly familiar and the unbelievable--is high speed internet really a feminist issue? And as much as I hate to side with a formula company, and wish that more people would continue breastfeeding, this article about the fear-based campaign to promote breastfeeding makes me furious. We'll make the tired new mothers feel guilty and scared, and then perhaps we won't have to address the huge cultural pressures that discourage breastfeeding. (Also, if I had a compliance rate approaching 64% on my health initiatives, there would still be work to do, but I'd be pretty proud.)

I even took a long car trip for work yesterday and got some knitting done. I'd love to show pictures, but it's just a half-done sock and not yet that exciting. Look at me! I get seven hours of sleep, and suddenly I feel the urge to maintain three blogs again! Perhaps I should just go back to work.
