Work was great. I was highly caffeinated, which helps. But I talked to grownups for several hours straight!

Our child care provider continues to be very high maintenance. I predict that she will wait until I'm way out in the west suburbs tomorrow afternoon before calling and pulling another "come-back-now" because of his lack of enthusiasm for her. Argh. [personal profile] thistles , would you get the Niblet to mount a rescue if this woman drives him too crazy? Perhaps she could come in with apple juice boxes blazing and just show her what-for.

New New Child Care called this afternoon, and we are signing the papers Monday. YAY!!

I walked into the house this afternoon and it smelled pungently of gas or something. I leave and freak out and call the gas company, who sends over a very nice man who tests our place and explains that it is Not His Problem. Which is great, because I wasn't eager for either a fiery blast or another inconvenient September Gas Line Repair, but I don't know what that stink was and we sat around with the windows open in the heat for hours. (I know, all of you without a/c are not amused. Can I pull the "I have a baby" excuse?) The stink smelled kind of like furnace oil, back when we had an oil furnace with a big tank that needed refilling every spring. Bleah.

I'm exhausted. I thought this would be easier (huh? ha!) but I'm really tired.

Bonzo got a bath tonight (with pictures, which I may someday upload) and giggled and took bits of bottle for both his dad and me and learned how to kick the play gym so the little red crab waved at him, and he was generally just the best part of my day. And then he went to sleep, even better. Time to join him.
