Niffe-who?
Mar. 2nd, 2004 12:18 amStarted reading The Time Traveler's Wife in honor of Leap Day. Ms. Audrey is going to be reading Tuesday at the Newberry Library, and I wanted to see if it was worth skipping knitting for. I'm now firmly in favor of the idea.
Ironically, (Amusingly? Naturally? What's the proper term?) one of the first scenes in the book is inside the Newberry Library. She puts Chicago into her book as if it were another character. People in my city are obsessive sometimes.
I also just finished reading a slew of short-story erotica by Tara Alton, one of which was about a girl who liked to eat dark chocolate orange peels while reading travel memoirs. She ends up having torrid chocolate-melting sex in the nonfiction section of an old used bookstore with the snarky and smart bookseller who wears butter-soft t-shirts. All of these scenes are getting shaken up with Henry/Clare stories, books and romance and misleads. Wow.
How can I sleep now with all these people talking in my brain?
