(no subject)

Yeah, I know, content boycott blah-blah. What's brutal (and ironic) about an LJ "strike" is that nobody posts on Friday, anyway, so we're missing what? Nothing more than usual. All my blogs have gone dark today, not just my Friends page. I can't figure out why this is--I doubt that everyone is working extremely hard to get things done before the weekend.

The snow is falling like gangbusters. Where's my spring?? I guess it was yesterday, and now it's done. We are headed off to Smalltown Ohio tonight--I'm looking at the big wet flakes, and sure that this is a bad idea, but we're doing it anyway. The car is packed, the kiddo's wearing plastic diapers, and the cat has already done his dramatic "NOOOOOOO-don't-leave-me-I'll-die-without-your-attention" dance. And the drive back up to our house from the office just seems too interminably long to consider. (I'm sure I'll laugh at that thought as we're passing Toledo at 10 pm. But at least that distance will not have the sting of defeat attached.)

I'm looking forward to seeing my mother, eating lots of chocolate (and Jordan almonds? I hope?), getting our taxes done, showing off the baby, and sleeping in my old room. I can't wait.
