Because, let's face it, no one's furnace goes out when it's 60 degrees and snowy. That wouldn't make for any type of drama! We have to wait until it's reeeeeealllly cold for the heat to disappear, and then it's a big exciting crisis. We put our mighty powers of repair to work on the cold house--we tapped on the furnace, jiggled the circuit breaker, clicked buttons on the thermostat--and then threw in the towel to call a repair man. So it's a busy, come-from-behind morning, which ironically involves me sitting around in a bathrobe waiting for the repair crew (I've got clothes on under here, I swear).
In cheerier news, we have a big-boy crib! It's lovely and white and sturdy, and seems to have most of its parts. I'll post pictures eventually. After I do my work and make more tea.
