Checking in
Aug. 7th, 2004 01:10 pmIt's Saturday afternoon and I am enjoying some much needed Time Alone. I went volunteering at the clinic this morning and got to stand in the sunshine and fend off some crazy people. Craig has gone to see his family and I have the whole weekend to myself to arrange the new house! Still no internet access at home, sadly, but that will keep me focused this weekend. I'm starting to get accustomed to this part-time access situation, if only I could get my email straightened out.
I don't talk about my job much online, but I can't help gushing a little: I love the people I work with. I love sitting around with friends during staff parties and trading stories. I love working in such a female-oriented environment, and I love that I can get advice on birth control methods in the lunch room and not have to whisper about it. My administration seems shocked that I'm willing to run errands or work extra time, but how could I say no? I genuinely like these people and this agency. I may not have a cushy corporate job, but I am so much happier doing this than running in the rat race. There's just no comparison.
Of course, this is all easy to say on Saturday. :)
