Feb. 9th, 2010 10:32 pmIt's February, and I think we're all writing the "not dead" post. It's been awhile, I know.
Bug report: tonight we discovered that our kid can play the French horn. Really. Well, he can only play two notes (one of which C has identified as an F) and sometimes he forgets the mouthpiece, but I'm pretty damn impressed anyway. A child of 32 months can play a brass instrument better than I can. Go figure.
Someone described this week's snow in Chicago as "sympathy flurries" for what is happening on the East Coast. It's still pretty powerful, though. I had to go out and buy emergency socks at work today. (Long after I burn out on my job, I will still be totally in love with my view and my proximity to Loop shopping.) C deserves the SuperDad award for commuting back and forth through the snow with the Bug and a full work schedule. We finally got sick with Bug's stomach flu from last week, and it was quick but it wasn't pretty.
I've figured out that between work drama and my semi-lame medical stuff (because how many times does the casual reader want to hear about how difficult it is to deal with an HMO?) my blogging instinct has really gone south. I know you all want more toddler updates. I know that I used to write snappy political commentary and that it was occasionally interesting. I know that you would probably like to hear more about hanging out with Dr. Ruth, pretty girls in party dresses,or the CTA slowdown. What can I say? It's February, and my blog is feeling a little congested. The best I can say is that I'm not dead, and I hope to be back in action soon.
