Bonzo took his first steps this week. He had a step or two on Sunday, but didn't seem to notice it. Then on Tuesday, he let go on purpose and walked two steps to me. He turned around and walked three steps to his crib. Then he plopped down on his bottom, clapped his hands, and said, "Yaaayy!" (From the "yay!", I suspect Baby School has been secretly coaching him. No matter.) He is amazingly graceful for someone so new at this. I'm really proud of him for all the larning he's been doing lately.
Tonight I'm in Bloomington, which (in my stretch of chainstoresburg) is indistinguishable from Aurora or any of the other towns I've had the chance to visit. Do I want to go to Applebee's? Carlos O'Kelly's? Flattop Grill? Borders? Barnes and Noble? Bed Bath and Beyond? They're all right here. Sheesh. It's exhausting. I ate some dinner, reveled in my clean hotel room (with fridge! And microwave!! It's so good to be the one with the credit card!) and watched Stewart and Colbert. Hilarious, but not as satisfying as a little Bug. I wish I'd brought a stuffed animal to sleep next to me. I'm lonely.
