week in bonzo
Aug. 5th, 2008 10:49 pmWe took our young hero to the doctor today to check for another ear infection. Turns out he's not sick, just cranky. But when he's good he's really really good... he loves to play in the bathtub this month, knows his name and can make noises that sound like his nickname, and politely tells us "all done" when he's finished his dinner. He's taken three or four signs and just run with them.
Bonzo really, really wants to eat with a spoon. However, when he gets the spoon in his hand it flips at least once before it gets to his mouth and dumps its payload. This is really frustrating to him. The "frustrated" noise can shatter glass, but it's over as soon as it starts. We're having a hard time convincing him to eat as much as a baby his size should eat, since he doesn't want us to use the spoon any more. He's also a huge fan of the First Slice meals, and immediately wants to abandon his baby food when C and I sit down with our plates. Peach and mango burritos were a particular winner.
The storms were really dramatic last night, but he slept through most of them. I enjoyed all the light and noise but did not enjoy the split trees or the fifty-eleven dead stoplights at our city's major intersections as I tried to careen through the city past baby school, work, doctor's, etc.
Tired now.
