My first Mother's Day

I continue to want to post Meaningful Stuff but my brain is eaten. I had lots of people wish me a happy Mother's Day--I was thrilled to get all the greetings. More cards! Yes, I are special!! But I'm also a little uncomfortable with the cultural construction of motherhood that the day is celebrating. It's like the world is divided into Mothers and Others, and suddenly I've found myself on the "correct" side. Hm.

We watched "Juno" last night, which was a lovely little fable and had good music to boot. I've been netflixing all these movies that tend to show up in my anonymous question box--now I finally know why people are asking about boysenberry condoms. The movie didn't rock my world, though.

We had a lovely quiet day. Bonzo is fussy 'cause he has teeth, and sinuses, and poop, and crawling, and all sorts of other things. But when he's in a good mood, he's really really charming. When he gets distressed, WATCH OUT.

Did I mention? He sits himself up now ALL THE TIME. Flops down, in fact, just for the opportunity to sit up again. Kind of sweet.

I really wanted to create a little video post for you but just didn't get it together in time. Perhaps tomorrow? Whatcha doin' tomorrow?
