2) I will pick THREE of your interests and/or user pics I find odd or nifty!
3) You post, explaining in detail about the three I chose!

submarines: I'm a Navy brat, and I'm quite fond of anything related to submarines... the way they smell, all those tiny little spaces, the blue work suits, the way that everyone is "on the same boat" in a way that you wouldn't get to experience on a larger surface ship. I have a couple favorite US submarines, one of which is sadly decommissioned now. That's where the second part of my online name comes from; it's not a birthday.

frogs: When I was little, I had a big ceramic frog nightlight labeled "Betsy's frog" that I turned on every night. My favorite color at the time was pink and my mother let me choose a red bulb for the nightlight, so his eyes glowed demonically and probably scared friends to death. When I graduated high school, my godfather gave me a frog necklace in reference to that nightlight, and I wore the little frog like a talisman nonstop from that point until about the time I got married. I still wear the little gold frog for special occasions, when I'm stressed, or when I need him. But I don't know much about real frogs, aside from thinking they're kind of cute, so I don't think they can really qualify as "my thing".

default dandelion icon: That's me trying to take a picture of a particularly impressive dandelion in an alley near W. Chicago and N. Paulina Aves. I think I did manage to get a fair picture of it after I figured out that I really should get out of frame, but this is the first one I took and it makes me giggle a little when I see it. This was a few years ago; my hair got longer right away, and now the rest of me is overgrown too.

Anyone else in?

*sigh*

Our dog, Duster, used to flop down at our feet at the end of a long day and give a quick little sigh as he hit the floor. It wasn't a long, emotional sigh, but more of a slow snort. It seemed to say, "Well, this day has been rough, but it's a little better now." I just opened up an email from C and made exactly that sort of noise. Now I know what the dog felt.
