BIG MOVING POST
Mar. 25th, 2007 02:23 pmHello y'all! Over the last several weeks a bunch of Chicago folks have said, "Let us know how we can help with the move." So here's what's up with the schedule, for all of you still willing and able...
We're looking for people on Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night, or Saturday who want to come out and load up a few boxes or possibly paint (Thurs or Fri night?) at the NEW PLACE. Saturday we're looking for people to do several things: take a bunch of stuff to Brown Elephant, help me transfer fussy items (like plants and bottles of chutney) to the new place, clean in prep for the movers on Sunday and--oh God let's hope not--finish sealing things in boxes.
Sunday we need someone who's willing to watch and love the cats during the movers' loading and unloading. They are already stressed, they will likely be at a fever pitch by then. We could lock them each in a bathroom if no one steps up, but that hurts my heart.
As for child care, I'm happy to wrangle a kidlet or two while other folks are helping out--I'm better suited to that right now than to the heavy lifting.
And (still move-related) I seem to have gotten my computer functional again--hooray!--so email me at EZEMKE at da gmail if you're able to step up.
All friends will be generously paid in pizza and/or beer (you could probably even talk us out of some furniture by Friday!). And, of course, our eternal gratitude.
