1) Our bathroom shower curtain has little suction cups on the edges to keep it sealed to the shower wall! I LOVE this invention! Snap snap, no water on the floor! I wish I could remember where I got it; we bought a new liner right before our houseguests showed up in July (though they were possibly more interested in trying to burn the place down than bathe neatly) and I usually use the little bathroom downstairs but it is UNPASSABLE this week.
2) I love, love, LOVE the bicyclist that I shared the road with on Damen and Armitage a few days ago. She stopped for the traffic light when it was red. She used hand signals to tell us where she was going. She did not barrel across two lanes of traffic to turn. I wanted to jump out of my car and give her a medal! Seriously, I used to be much more tolerant of bicycles, but after months of watching them swerve towards cars and meander through oncoming traffic with nary a signal, I'm just about done sharing the road and want to stay as far from them as possible. But this woman was phenomenal, predictable (I like that in a bicyclist), and followed traffic laws. She can bicycle next to me any time.
NOT AMUSED
1) The humans in the house must still sleep upstairs. Cats have been locked in the back storage room for 24 hours, then this evening they get some time off for good behavior, and then on Friday they are locked in again until Saturday morning. Oh, the fear and caterwauling is becoming unbearable, both from them and from me.
2) Semi truck U-turning in front of my left turn (Western Ave? I don't remember). No, Mr. Semi, you are not a Mini, you are not a Civic, you are not even a sporting little Jetta. Bicycles must act like bicycles, and semis must act like semis! We demand order amongst vehicular species!
