Fear and trembling:
What's That Bug?Flea, reminding us that although our sexual proclivities may seem odd to some, we're really more mainstream than we think. I mean,
carrots? This entry starts with (vague) references to sexual assault, and ends with a recipe. That's my kind of blog. I admire flea when she writes about parenting, and
Asperger's, and she has some kickass feminist leanings, but when I visit every day I am hoping for a smidgen of funny like that.
I had a thing for reading
Rageboy in my last, dark year of Ohio. It was the first blog I subscribed to, before I even knew what a blog was, over plain old email and without this fancy RSS nonsense. What with all the moves to Chicago, and the moving on, I lost his number, and didn't think about him again until a month ago. Then I forgot again until this morning. So I resubscribed to the Entropy Gradient Reversal, and am already shaking my head, wondering why I did so. He's like a wacked-out high school boyfriend, over-pontificating, who should be on drugs if he isn't already. You only listen halfway, but he's still compelling somehow, so you keep calling. Anyway, he first introduced me to Abbie Hoffman ("you mean, he's a boy?") so that I didn't embarrass myself in front of my future husband. I'm grateful.
I'd like to be reading "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" right now, but I can't find it. Did I loan it to somebody? Which one of you did I loan this book to?
