I'm trying to enjoy my toes while I can see 'em. Obviously I'm not one of those girls who will stay bitty until they pop out suddenly in the 7th month; at 22/1 I am starting to get round. I keep trying to add a week to my dates every day or two; I need to pay better attention to the calendar or at this rate, I'll have the spawn in March. (Note to spawn: we do NOT WANT you showing up in March. Your room will not be ready. I don't like steroids. And you're way more portable this way. So don't move.)

I'm also, apparently, making up for all that first trimester wackiness that I breezed right past when everyone else was doing it. I'm--how to put this delicately?--a little sensitive. House-hunting does not help. Sleeping more does help, but when I sleep in I skip the gym, which puts us even on the crazy points. I know I do better when I knit more and keep my space clean. I know I do worse if I'm alone too long, or stay online too long. The pregnancy guides (and certain well-meaning friends) keep pointing out that this middle time is an opportunity to be serene and blissful, but I was so busy blissing three months ago that I might be... well, not blissed out, but worn out somehow. More sunlight would help. Could I get a tropical vacation to table six, please?

The kid is kicking and squirming. This is fascinating, and also kind of odd. We have some names on a short-list, although we're keeping kind of mum on that until later on. And hey, good news! I might get to have a midwife instead of an OB, which could be great for me. Photos soon!
