Big weekend for Bonzo!

Ladies and gentlemen, Bonzo has heard that Christmas is coming, and will not take this news lying down. Rather, he will take it sitting up (with the help of his handler, of course, to prop him gently into position) and then he will shake a piece of paper at it. If you give him a sippy cup, he'll even drink to it! He doesn't actually drink yet, but he does put the cup to his lips and tip. When we removed the little sucky valve, he seemed flabbergasted at the drops of water that hit his mouth, and quickly put the cup down. Silly Mommy. Water is to play in.
This time of year, there are trees inside, and my little nature-lover is thrilled and astounded by this. He even had the chance to go see some plants on Sunday, but of course he fell asleep in the car on the way to the conservatory. I was so desperate for him to take a nap that I sat in the car and waited for him to wake up on his own; 45 minutes later, I turned the car back on and headed for home. He slept for more than 90 minutes on that nap, which is maybe more exciting than a greenhouse.
Meanwhile, this mama has heard that Christmas is coming, and she is freaking out about it. How can it be next week? Furthermore, the family Christmas in Ohio is even earlier, and in order to be sure and get things there on time, the package should go out TOMORROW. Whose bright idea was that? I like Christmas better when it's scheduled for a few days after the 25th. That way, all of us slackers can eat our fowl and fruitcake and wait for our mail-order packages to arrive in peace.
In knitting news: I started two hats for myself in the last two weeks, and both of them are quickly on their way to being unraveled. C has begun gently pointing out that in order for his socks to be useful there need to be two of them, and I'm dreaming of my own wool socks in that yummy pink yarn that Stephanie picked out for me last year. And a cardigan; I want to make myself a cardigan. When will Bonzo learn to knit already?*
*Please understand that I don't mean this. It will be enough trouble to babyproof the kitchen; I have no desire to babyproof the stash.
